Moths and other Winged things

developing my craft

A fascination with insects has led to the creation of these pieces. The class Insecta is vast and varied; rich with shapes, sizes, colors and metamorphosis. SKINKS are the result of years of experimentation with an epoxy compound and a variety of materials. Wire, stone, film and metallic powders are fixed into the medium before it sets. Each one is individually sculpted and diabolically detailed, right down to the antennae. The appendages are flexible and embedded through the cement, finished with a protective coating for durability. These critters are comfortable just about anywhere – the garden hat, the jacket lapel or lounging on a lampshade. Jewelry with shock value… never met with indifference, responses ranging from a shudder to a squeal of delight. Enjoy!....... linda
